Out of this purchase, I managed to get 3 saw planks of 8 ft x 2" x 26"  AAA+ quartersawn lumber that I will be re-sawn into book matched soundboards.

  • Tight rings!  Nice score, nicer save.  I once spent two months hand digging a black cherry stump out.  Loggers cut it two feet above the ground.  I got the two feet above ground, and about three feet of roots.  Still not sure what I will do with it, but talk about crazy grain.  That will probably be small carvings, bowls, or pipes.  This one was a "nuisance tree".  Yardcare guys were going to landfill it. Those are all three inch thick by 24 wide nine footers, except the bottom one, pith section, cut that four inches.  Green, they were about 150 pounds a stick.
