I am on sick leave for the last five months so cash is a problem but I really like the looks of those Strum sticks. What could a feller expect to pay for a nice looking, playable stick? I hope to get well soon and hope to buy one. I have seen some real nice ones on this site.
Thank You

I made my first one for $5, some hot glue and some components out of the recycling bin. No cutting required.
Clementine Box
Certainly not as nice as the other ones you've seen, but I sure had a blast with it.
How many strings do you want ??
Femel,
I tried a four string model, two for chording and two drone and it sounded real good. I tried to get back to you but my email is screwed up. It will be a while be fore I can do anything. I'm flat broke and it looks like that is the way of the future for now. I'm on oxegen and I was forbidden to make saw dust.I thought it could not hurt me If I wore a mask. So I made some kazoos and a kalimba it took me about two weeks to get over it.Not ready yet to make a strumb stick. I just really like them.
Thanks for the reply.

How authentic does it have to be? You could always:
1) Make a three-sting CBG with diatonic rather than chromatic fretting.( Use a Guitar Fret length but only Fret 0,2, 4, 5,7, 9, 12, 14, 16 etc).
2) Grab a Poplar stick, split and cover.
3) Hollow out and cover a boat paddle.
4) Pie pan and a tennis racquet.
If you would rather purchase one, you can't go wrong with these guys:

Prices range from $185 to $400+, but they have a reputation for great quality. There's also:

Notice that is comes in both complete and kit form. There's also a free assembly guide-

You can always try Ebay of course, might find a good bargain-but caveat emptor of course...
Good Hunting!
Not sure what people charge. Mine cost me about $120.00 to male including the preamp and pickup. I used cherry, spruce back and wedge fretboard. You can see it in my photos.
