I have done 2 boxes glued together and i know old lowe also has (he even has pics of the wip on his page somewhere) I am sure a few more have also ,works just fine

Colin, I don't think there is too much to worry about... when the issue is "the best sound", just remember we're starting out with cigar boxes, so a good sound is amazing....

BTW, I've done several builds with soundholes in the sides and I like it. I think it gets maximum volume (larger vibrating top) and simplifies the build....

bummer, I'll have to try it and see. In the unfortunate event, i could cover the front holes with something. First bass build no harm in shortcomings.

I know this is counter-intuitive, but the "experts" over at least three forums say that to get better bass resonance, you need smaller holes, rather than bigger.

Being no expert, I can only say that I like to limit my sound holes in size and it seems to work....

for the email that was sent; I personally have not tried 2 box deep but i am working on a 2 string bass that the body is a reinforced 12pack box, hope it resonates good. I put large f-holes on the face and smaller holes on the two sides.

Funny idea, but difficult make it.
Decoupage stuff makes bubbles very easy, to Cristmas gift paper.

If that box lid and bottoms are about 6 mm thick (?).
Take necks underside and topsidep 6 mm off , then it,s going even and fit whole box, if you want at sound rounding around in box, , make horizontal holes to neck inside box.

These comes my mind, hope this helps you.
