String spacing on 4 stringer?

Is it appropriate on a 4 string CBG to use the general same sort of string spacing at nut & saddle as on a regular acoustic? My dad & I are about to build my first multi-stringed CBG and I was thinking I'd base the string spacing on my Larivee D-19 (

keep braking strings

hi..i am rebuilding cbg # 1 and building cbg#2,,,i have broken 5 stings!!i am using D'Addario acoustic80/20 bronze..045,035,& 026..any suggestions? i am breaking them in the stringing process,,not from playing. thanks..bob.

Thrift Store Inspiration
