Okay so this is what I've come up with. The diagram may be hard to comprehend--Beats me I think I understand it. Basically its for a broomstick neck that I've been thinking about. This drawing uses an eye bolt for a saddle with a stopper placed on t
I initially felt sure the extra wood that lines some of the boxes should be pulled out and eliminated, but I wonder what most of you guys do with it, seems if it was glued in place that it wouldn't affect the sound that much either way, and would a
I have just recently (in the last week) started building cbgs and both of them have really bad action. Either it is really low and flapping against the box, which happened on my first one, or way to high which is what happened on my 2nd one.
Right, so I have a single coil pickup, 2 250k log pots, a .22 capacitor and a jack. I think I need to wire them up along the lines of this. Problem is that I don't really understand the diagram.
What do I do with all of those ground connections? D
I got about 20 glass cigar tubes (el Producto) with one of the boxes I bought on eBay, and was wondering if I could make functional slides out of them. They're obviously too long & will need to be shortened, but do any of you have any suggesti
Hi all ,
Well I finally finished my first neck, went to grab my cigar box and found that it is severely warped ! I had prepped it about a month ago and have looked at it several times since and never saw any warpage. We have had some very hot weather
Stopped at Radio Shack on my way home today to grab a Piezo buzzer. I think I may have grabbed the wrong one. Part number is 273-0060, and when I cracked open the lid, in addition to the piezo disc, there is a small circuit board (same size as the
For some reason the machine heads I bought seem to have long shafts on them so they stick up above the headstock by about 15mm or so to the eye where the strings are threaded through.
This has meant that the break angle over the nut is very shallow.
Was just getting all ready to string my 3-string CBG up tonight only to find that the middle string going to the upper-most machine head is too short! The other two to the nearer machine heads are fine, just.
I have a 3 and 4 string CBG and I really want to play a 6 string. I can't afford to buy one, so I want to make one. Problem is I have a nice box that I feel will work great, but I can't find plans with dimensions for the neck width and length. I k
there are a million answers to the question what strings do I use and what do I tune them to? I'v been useing strings # 2,3,4 but was wondering if anyone else uses diferent ones, and what to tune them too.
The top and the bottom are exactly the same width and length. The box uses an inner liner (four thin pieces of wood against each side which are the depth of the box).
Just a few questions. I have found some of the decorative corners used on the edges of the boxes in the back of an old hardware store, but he says that the part is obsolete, so where should I look to get more?
Hello I'am new at the whole cbg thing just finished building my first one and everything went fine but now all of a sudden im starting to get a warbaly sound out of it for some reason can anyone offer any suggestions please thanks.
just wanted to say my 2nd build, Leaf #2, is finally strung up and gettin' played. I spent a lot of time on this one, problem solving and mistake-masking, but I'm pretty happy with it. The neck is maple, fret board and other pieces are w
Hey guys another newb here. I just discovered cbg's and want to build one. I've been to the local tobacco shops with no luck and was wondering where a good place to get few boxes might be? Thanks for any help you can give me and I really appreciate i
The problem when building a CBG is that you have to run the neck through the box for structural strength. As the boxes are already small, this eats up a lot of the available volume for producing good sound. My latest build I glued a threaded rod int
