Scarf joint

I've never done a scarf joint but I'm thinking the build #2 might include one. Is it correct that a scarf joint makes for a stronger headstock?

On my first build I was not happy with the break angle from the nut to the tuners. Will a scarf joint help me get a better angel?

The jig makes all the difference, and was not hard to make.

I'll read up and probably go with a scarf joint next. I'll do a practice one or two on scrap first.

All the broken guitar head-stocks I've seen (and that's a few!), have hardly ever been on the glue line at the scarf joint. If joined and glued properly, it's as strong or stronger than the wood around it.
