I'm building my first CBG. Any advice on 3 string / 4 string construction. Looking for a good introduction for fun and to help me with the basics of learning too. I can always build more :-)
thx cb groups!

Stay with neck thru design, fretless, three string for first build. If you want to amp it, use piezo wired directly to the output jack.... bolts/eyebolts/thumb screws for nut and bridge in various sizes with help get the action right.
pay attention to the free instructions and recess under the top to allow it to vibrate freely. If you use boards from a yard, get a 1X2X36 for the neck and a 1/4 X 2 X 24 for the fretboard. Adding a seperate fretboard makes the neck stronger and solves problems with string break over the nut.
Other than that, just build it... You'll learn a lot and the next will be easier.
