Duh found some straight away called nylgut red series. Thanks again Kigar. Instant and huge help.
Thanks for replying so quickly Kigar. Any idea what the aquila strings are called? I searched a good while today but couldn't find any. If not then I'll try adding aquila to my concert low g ukulele strings search and see if anything shows. Your tip on the learning will no doubt help too so thank you for that too. I never could play six string that well though unfortunately but it's no doubt good to know these comparables. Much appreciated.
Aquila makes low g concert scale strings, others probably do as well. Ukes are usually for "happy" music, I have a hard time with playing blues on one without grinning. If it came with a high G you might try it and see what you think.
As to how to play, one of the best tips I found was if you think of putting a capo on the fourth fret of a guitar and ignore the lower two strings you have uke tuning. All the chords and notes are four frets higher but the same shapes and patterns.
Hey all. Just joined the group after ordering my first cigar box ukulele (well tin one anyway). I've been researching this and that on YouTube but mostly how to play. One of the videos mentioned putting a low G string on but after looking around on eBay most low G strings for sale seem to be for the tenor size. My question is can I put a tenor string on a concert scale uke? Will a low G make much of a difference anyway? The video mentioned it for blues but will putting a low G on mean I can't play some songs? Advice sought definitely needed and much appreciated. Thanks.
Carefully, very carefully.
How do I install a jumping flea?

First 3 ukes built in the Sacramento shop.
Hi Will, Yes it is. I like that uke lot. The box is Undercrown-sounds good. I wish I had another of those boxes because I have another Gitty neck.
I'll bring it on the 14th. I'm in Sausalito today but will be in Sac in a few days. Come on by when you have a chance.
