build the base up the cone sits on. as i understand it, it is the cone that resonates not the surrounds, so all that you get is a heavier box.  that said it may be easier gettigna new box.  do you photos?

If anyone in the UK or Europe wants uke cones and coverplates, no need to pay high US prices and shipping. I'm awaiting delivery of uke reso hardware kits (spun cone, nickel plated coverplate, rosewood biscuit and maple saddle).  Not sure what you paid for the Republic kit with shipping, but I reckon I'll beat that by a good margin. Should be here any day.
