Here is a helpful link for cutting your own tines from Kalimba Magic, who also sells the tines.

For cigar boxes, it seems that the 3mm and the 5mm floppy are the best, the 5mm stiff does not do well on a box with a thin lid.

Yep. Mark Holdaway at Kalimba Magic has TONS of content on his page, He has monthly newsletters and posts stuff almost DAILY on his web page, and has done for years. Lessons, building tips, philosophy...

Anyone interested in Kalimbas should poke around and see what they can find in his archives. A bit like searching in your Grandfather's attic -- you might not find what you're looking for, but you WILL find something interesting.
