Here some pics of the bass I just finished. I call it a Kay Excalibur ('60's era Kay neck) & a Excalibur cigar box. First pic shows the inside & electrics. I used an import humbucker style (10.6 k) bass pickup I picked up some where, a couple of Alpha full sized 500k pots with a 1.0 K capicator & one of the extended jacks I bought from Ben. You can see the bracing I added to mount the bridge, the neck & neck extension. The rest are different views of the finished bass. The bridge is for a Precission bass & the tuning keys are from a Squire Bronco bass & a perfect fit on the Kay neck. I replaced the "zero fret" set up common on Jap guitars of this era with a regular nut. It's missing the string retainer on the headstock but I will not pay the $26 for one on E-Bay.

Are you using a factory neck or are you building one? I use neck through on a lot of my 3 & 4 string CBG's where I've built the necks myself but I've not yet built a bass neck from scratch. Good luck & let us know how it turns out.
