CB Bass help

Trying my first bass. Has anyone used a piezo in the box for a pickup with a bass? It works well on my guitars but need info. Going with a 34" scale. Three piece laminated neck, thruogh the box as on my guitars. Also, what do I tune a bass to? Thanks in advance.

  • tuning for a bass is E A D G

  • I agree that piezo in the bridge is preferable....

  • I have used piezos in the bodies but I strongly prefer the peizo in the bridge. If it is in the body every little knock or brush against the body will be picked up. In the bridge much of that extra noise is cut out and you are getting mainly just the string vibration. I have found this is especially the case with basses simply because there is so much vibration with it's inherit larger and typically lower tension strings.

Have you decided on string? I love weedwacker strings. You can find them on eBay for about 25$ a set. I emailed the guy and he cut me a deal for a partial set. You can get them in any color/gauge you like. I love that slappy double bass sound!

Tuning as always is up to you!

Are you planning on going fretless or fretted?
