Cigar box internet radio station?

Hi all

Sorry if this is off the thread but I had the Idea here;)

I joined this group a few days ago after a heads up from Bemuzic Thanks for that.

I have been a member of C.B.N for a couple of months and from what I have seen on the nation we have some real talent here. So after downloading audcity and playing around with it I had a crazy idea why not start a net radio station, Now its not as crazy as I first thought.

1. I thought well thats crazy as it will cost S"*t loads to set up, But after a little research it can be done cheep and I mean my kind of cheep Free. Free software on the net love the net.

2. Lots of people on C.B.N have recorded songs, tunes another chance to air stuff. And I guess lots of new bands around that would like a bit of a air royalty free of course.

3. Who would listen well we all have email lists and other contacts and so on.

There are lots of options even making a little revenue from adverts could do regional or your area but I think I am running a little before I am walking.

Oh and I think if we got our heads and talents together I can be done

So am I crazy the wife says I am mad but not dangerous.

And with that I am off back to my padded room.

      This is the sort of thing I mean. I will say it might take a few weeks to get together

      I need people like you who are willing to contribute to the station/podcast.

      I will say not just music. Any ideas maybe some tech knowlage or just what people want to hear.

      Sections for all styles of music you know country and western "bues brothers" you know what I mean.

      Just got to say Oily out of you 3 boys you got the best name ;-0 The wife somtimes calls me Arse hole but it sound so much more romantic in swiss german lol

      That would be great.  I may have to start with a pod cast but all the same can be downloaded to a player or listend to on pc. I hope more people will want to send some music. Lots of styles. Not my sample drums though lol ;-0

      lol, hope I didn't upset you about that?! It's not that I think there's anything wrong with them..just I'm going through a back to basics phase at the moment...could change at any time!!

      No not at all.I only cryed into my beer for a couple of hours lol It was the first time I had tryed a sample myself. " Music not Beer" Oh and better not try drinking Samples too :0

      I love the basic style it has soul. I took my acustic 1/2 way around the world for a few years traveling and you dont get much more basic. I say that but now I have CBG and diddly bow I know different.

      But I am looking into this radio pod cast and looking at the best way to start it if anyone wants to be part of it all are welcome.

       Yeah that sounds good , travelling the world with your guitar..did you busk as you went to fund it?

      No please ;-) just kidding and the beer was good . Did a bit of busking and and other work I could find and ended up living in Switzerland 3 kids later.

      Well the 3rd will be here in about 20 days :-)  Joel.

      But as I see the radio is I must have the material to play. 2 songs is not even a pod cast.

       I have always loved the blues, folk, rock got everthing done by the beatles and stones 60s stuff just love good tunes. But its even better when you have a good story with the tune.

      Making music is the best feeling I can think of.

      Your tunes and lyrics are very good better than that and lots of other guys here too.

      The christmass lp is just one so I thought why not put it all together try to spread the self made music word.

      ooh exiting times. I'm surprised you're looking to start up a radio station at a time like that!

    Hello David!

    I am not sure if he still does it, but a member named Joker used to do something like that. There used to be a link on the home page here I think, but it may have gotten changed during the change to CBN AS (After Shane).
