Capacitor

I am building a weed whacked bass. I am putting a double piezo bride on it. I would like to add a capacitor to the 1/4 inch jack. Somewhere I read that most of the feed back happens in a certain range and if you add the right capacitor you can really limit the feed back. Does anyone know the correct one for a piezo pickup????

  • There's a video somewhere on here where Ben tries different values for a 3 string CBG and comes out with a .01uf value, I have no idea whether it would be the same value for your bass........yet!  I have the washtub, the pole and the weed whacker string, but she ain't been put together yet.

I did buy an assortment of disc capacitors really cheap from China via eBay, so can mess around with values and find what suits me best.

If you could post some pictures and sound samples of yours, that might give me the jog I need ti finish mine.

    Hope this helps

    • Well let me see what I can do. Mine isn't finished either.....hmmm would you like to have a bass off with me? Let's say 2 weeks and we post....
Also thank you for your help with the capacitor. Gitty's got that size s cool. The electronics part is my biggest challenge. On my next guitar I would like to try a three way switch. But I need to finish this one first. Let me know about the bass off... Step back honky cat, LOL
