Wounded Warrior Pvt. Luke Wedgeworth

I got word earlier tonight that Luke is Stateside. He will be in Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC - SAMMC) at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Tx within the next few hours to begin recovery and rehab.

Luke lost his left leg just above the knee and his right leg just below the knee. We had originally been told the left was lost at the hip, so this is good news. At least there is a chance for prosthesis.

I still haven't been able to learn who the other injured soldiers are, but I'll bet the Lord will sort out any prayers for them.

A copy of my original post is below.

"A Soldier from the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Wainwright was killed by an improvised explosive device in the city of Shah Joy in Afghanistan at about 7 p.m. June 2.

Seven other brigade Soldiers were wounded in the same incident."

The family of one of the injured are very good friends of mine.

Pvt. Luke Wedgeworth  lost both legs in this attack. He is listed as "Stable", but he and his family can sure use the prayers.

He's a soft hearted, hard headed kid. He would be willing and able to help anyone else get through this, but I worry about he will handle it for himself.
