When I first heard ZZ Top Brown Sugar, I went out and bought their whole back catalogue.
I was better off then than I now am, ( retired )
Their so called first album, is soooo raw, and not over produced, I still love it today.
BG,s opening riff on Brown Sugar, hits me where I live, even after all this time.

I agree Mike. I was glad to be a part of this. Hope you like my bands version of "John the Revelator". It was fun to make.

A little off topic, but the compilation introduced me to BWJ and inspired me to sing out in public in front of a band for the first time.  Check out Soul of a Man by Cooking with Gas :-)

leadbelly - yeah!  i'd like to try 'Black Girl'

Just in case, and maybe jumping the gun.

I would be good with doing Leadbelly ....... and I now officially claim 'Midnight Special". I caught the leadbelly fever from "The Honeydripper".
