I have made a few guitar pedals in the past as well as fixed them for friends.
So, I have most of the parts needed allready.
Oh, I can also make PCB's which is a bit of help.
Im not sure what instructions the champ has as far as hooking up a guitar to it. But this circuit is basicly the same I expect, so the link will provide information that is not perhaps contained in the "champs instructions"

Yep, they have the Champ and the piezo AB3440. Perhaps Iwill get down lthere tomorrow. Disparately waiting for my Cigar boxes.

I have never built an electronics kit in my life, but I am thinking that this is the time to learn. Champ kit it is.... I will ring to see if our local (1 hour away) Jaycar has it in stock and get it in the next day or so. Be ready for calls for help!

Agrees with Jawbone about the champ amp kit.
I built one a couple of years ago and it was great for practice and busking.
Easy as pie to make also.

I think my amplifier is a few weeks away as i am depending on my "busy" son!
(It is great being retired like me. I can set my own priorities.)
My Cigar boxes are being posted on Monday.

Hope to do more work on my neck tomorrow.

Hi Brian,

The device is originally used for making sound when elctrified. When used as we would, (by wiring it to the output jack and strumming a CBG) the current generated will be minimal. So only way to know will be to wire it up and see if it works - you are probably right that it is the wrong one, I think it is for making underwater microphones (extremely pressure sensitive).

Re the Jaycar AB 3440 transducer, (You will have to excuse my ignorance) But it talks about "AC" and i thought we would be dealing in "DC"
