try gdgd or eadg or dada these are several open tunings but the middle one would be standard fer the top four strings of a 6-string guitar. sometimes i tune the 2 bottom strings the same for a drone effect on open tunings this would be gdgg and dadd mostly i tune by ear so i,m not real sure of the many different types of tuning i can find by ear, unless i would tune then check it on a tuner. by the way that is a nice dam thing that you built there. cool looking little slide guitar.when i first discovered cigar box guitars i couldnt wait to build one so i built my own box untill i could find cigar boxes here is a pic of the first one i ever built.

thanks the slider took about three hrs so far, beech body an brass fittings still needs a final rub down an sealing might even treat it to some new strings ,nice looking cbg, thinks i will have to make some box/s and print my own labels seems like a few of us here in the uk having trouble finding box/s
