Not sure if I shared this before, but based on the information I came across here and other sites, I took the dive and designed and built my first six-stringer. It's a resonator built out of solid mahogany.
After some tweaking, it has become my favorite player. A 27MM piezo lets me feed it into my amp and dial in the sound.
That's a beauty. The black cover and hardware looks great.
It was a fun build.
I'm still tweaking, but loving it.
Update. After playing for a while, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade the cone for a Beard 9 1/2" biscuit cone. As I had read, the high-end cone did improve the sound noticeably. It is a very clean, metallic sound typical of a biscuit bridge.
I also redesigned the cone cover to something more open
Thanks J.D. It has become my go to player.
