I bought this last week off craigslist for $25. Works great as a preamp with my cigar box guitar amps, and I especially like it as a diddley bow preamp. I've hooked it up to a cheap 10 watt guitar amp, a high end bass combo, and a classic tube setup, and it works great with all of them. It's like have the FX section from the Roland Cube amps to use with everything. It's got noise reduction that works with high gain and single coil 60 cycle hum, a good range of amp models. I like the tremolo and echo esp from the effects. And the Output Character section really makes some of the more tame amp models pop to life. If you find one of these or something like it on the used market, snap it up. Really shines with getting the right EQ with single and 2 stringers.
Anyone else use a modeler or POD, etc?

very nice find Sean. will have to keep an eye out for one of these. reminded me i have to finish the amp project i started with a digitech RP-50 effect pedal built in.
I bought the Zoom unit intending to hack it into a 15 watt battery powered amp head, but it's small dinner plate size (7x8"). The pic made it look FX pedal sized. It sounds too good with er'thing to hack it though. It works great testing out my cigar box amps as a preamp - overdrive pedal replacement, and the Zoom can use batteries too.
An RP 50 in an amp hack sounds cool, Timothy. I am keeping an eye out for something smaller to hack into an amp.
"" Zoom unit"" .. :-} now there's a song title ;-}
Or a model of a Swamp Witch Guitar... :)
Oh, man, a swamp witch inspired by Billy Zoom from X; the Swamp Witch Zoom Unit... You can have that idea!!!
lol.. "Punky Zoomster" :-)
