Hey all, I'm curious, I was thinking of using a yardstick for a fretboard. I've seen Shane do this and others but I've never tried it. The yardstick I have isn't old and it's only 1 and 3/8 inch wide. Should I shave down my maple neck which is the standard 1 1/2 inches or would it work if I just center the yardstick on it? Just wondering if it would be comfortable to play.

for a 3 stringer ? just center it , the end strings will still space nicely across the stick , and you may find its actually easier to play slide , with less slide clunk on the neck as that lil step gives you some angle forgiveness .

Thanks, yes it will be a 3 string! I see your point about playing slide. Cool!
