Things went awesome...I did have a great time and met alot of helpful folks. With recent budget restraints they were asking people to fill out interest forms for the booths they would like to see offered, and turn them into the program heads. Those with most interest would be offered opportunities for class.

Some people understood that they needed to fill out the interest forms, some people didnt get it and thought it was the old enrollment forms. I got in real good with the guy that offered the guitar lessons...Eric Lambert

He has toured internationally and everyone round here knows him. He loved my mandolin and wanted to buy it on the spot. He played it all day, even performed with it in front of the entire lunch crowd. Once the music croonies gathered around and saw what the Cigar Box Class was actually about, they all wanted to sign up and pass my flyers around the mill to the others who were interested and had questions, but couldnt make the fair. I had 6 sign up interested, several take forms with them, and gave lots of flyers to the fellas who said they were going to make the class happen.

I also got an offer to trade classes with the lady who owns a shooting range...she offered to host my class and help provide whatever I may need. She would take the class for free and recruit as many people as I thought worthwhile. I said I would be happy with just a couple people, and she thought like 18...we settled on 10 haha. She said, "I'm going to make you some money...you watch!". Who am I to argue with such wisdom?

So as is...I sold a mandolin to a well known regional player who has toured internationally...said he'd leave his 1918 at home and play it out at gigs. He'd tell people that I made it, make videos and put it on his dvd. That's pretty cool!

Probably got a for sure class come January at the Mill...thats cool.

Got a class at the Shooting Range- SHABAM!

Got a class at the WoodCraft- POW!

Rubbed elbows with the professional luthier who loved my stuff and offered me all sorts of resources to help me save on materials, as well as use his shop to make my fingerboards. Said I can do it in 2 minutes....BAM!!! (takes me an hour to measure and cut). I cant wait to take his class. WOOHOO SUCKA!

we'll see where it takes us...

need to sell all these builds, cuz I'm broke. Then all efforts will be made in solidifying the designs for all the different instruments. Things continue to improve, but its like I still havent quite settled into my design. The next round of instruments should be standardized, then I will work on a little artistry.

I want to start making some banjos and dulcijos but aint figured the 5th string dilemma yet.

Well done. I love enterprising people.
May the wind always be at your back.
I got good news and better news:

Good news is that I may be getting a job soon...its just remedial work, but its money.

Better news is that I got a local shop to hang my stuff up at. I can tag it however I want and he'll take 15% which isnt too bad. So I need to get busy.
