So, I tend to jump off the deep end with things and rather than get a "normal" box to do my first CBG, I started grabbing odd balls.

Now, neither of these have to be a CBG (im honestly thinking amp for the big angled one) but Id like to get yalls opinion on how to work around the problems they present.

First is a Maniac Cigars box. When I got this one, I thought it was just a weird wrapped box. Didnt realize the lid was screwy till I got it home. This one is 11.5" long, 8.5" wide and just under 3.75" tall

Next is one I grabbed today, and I had the idea to make a bass or bari out of it, but im not sure the angle would suit it. Makes a great foot rest tho.... this ones12.5" l, 9.25 w and 6.5~4.75 t. the wood walls inside are 1.75 on the side and 2" on the front, and theyre hollow.

Drop a piece of ply under the lid and make it electric only. Keep the look and jam on! Not sure what to do with the second one.

HAHAHA you think Im going to make one and stop... thats funny.

Yeah, the back of the white one is woefully unadorned and quite white, and I rather fancy the front actually being the front due to the logos. Im weird. Altho I do think the plywood idea is a sound one.

With the angled one, Im thinking the angle would make the neck to twisted to play if I went even with the lid, and potentially unplayable if I make the neck flat with the bottom.Hell, it might just end up being a cellar for my pipe tobacco...

the benefit of having been a partner in a local cigar shop is that I am able to go snag what I want from the stockpile of boxes. Im planning another raid here soon, should have some interesting finds

The Macanudo with the ramped lid and hollow sides seems to be begging to be a stage monitor/practice amp, same shape as a stage wedge monitor and the hollow sides have GOT to something INTERESTING to the sound.

For the Maniac, a pair of 1/4x1/4 braces under the Maniac lid to stiffen that folding joint, put the tail of a stopped neck down at the lid's hinge end.  Done right and you can open the box for tweaking/repairs without unstringing.  I did that with this 2 string chugger with an odd lid issue:
