This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Bought this old Zenith guitar a couple of years ago and finally got to string it up on Friday. To my horror when I tried to tune it the front started to collapse, the struts had come loose from the sound board.

The back has been removed, struts reglued, back refitted, now to repaint and restring.

That looks awesome. I've always been a sucker for a Red/Black Burst.

Big Job, I've done a few too. Came out looking great, its good to give instruments a new life. Or give life to a box that had none.

Found this on the web, so I made one today. Nice little sanding station made from an old plug in drill that was sitting in a drawer and some scrap.  Pretty simple, just have to figure out how to hold the drill.  Mine had a nice little step in it that matched well to a hole saw bit, the base is just clamped to your bench.  I need to improve on the hillbilly button lock though.

That is cool. I tried it on my router, but that was just too fast. LOL I do have a older half worn out drill that would work well for this.

Thanks for posting.

If you could pull that off you would be the fastest sander in the west!

Playing with piezo. Trying different wiring between two sandwiched together. So far I've only destroyed one.

Still waiting for my new toy. (jigsaw) The plans for my first build have changed. Still waiting on the backordered parts.

MY NEW TOY!!! My Bocsh jigsaw came in today. First impressions. It's four times as heavy as my first one. Going to set it up and play with scrap wood. Turn them into smaller scraps. LOL OK so am I the only one who has a problem with tossing wood? You can use it for something right?

i think this thing will spin on a dime. Was cutting up an old dresser drawer. 1/2 ply. Using the wrong blade. Was chipping and pulling up the ply. But it was doing things my old jigsaw never did. No matter what blade I had in it. Now to get back to work!

That's what bothers me about Plywood the most - splintered edges. A buddy told me to put masking tape on the ply and draw your pattern on the tape, then pull the tape after cutting. So I did that. The cutting went smooth, then when I pulled the tape off it also pulled some pieces of ply with it. I wanted to throw that piece as far as I could, but resisted and sighed. Said some things that weren't nice too. LOL

Right.

Hi, I apply Shellac to surfaces prior to the tape, less chance of pulling the grain.

Also, try pulling the tape off along the grain direction towards the cut, not along the cut line, as it was applied.

You could also scribe the line to be cut with a sharp craft knife, and jigsaw close to it.

All these work for me.
