This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Very good Job Ray.
As much as wood is going for these days, I'm really watching my scraps and trying to plan builds more closely.
I got a SG body made of Mahogany on Facebook couple days ago. It was part of a kit that had a damaged neck in shipping, guy was trying to recoup his loss by selling the parts.
I've noticed some people selling wood cut from their property on Facebook recently for good prices, but you have to let it season first.

My cousin loaned me his hand-held electric planer to even up the top of my Firebird neck, but the blades were dull and one was cresent shaped. It was a older Harbor Freight model, so I went to Harbor Freight for new blades after getting hung up on over a phone call. No Blades. The manager said they don't keep replacement parts for the older models and then tried to sell me a new model for $50 dollars. I asked him why I should buy a new model that he won't have parts for in a few years? He said good point. I found the blades on Amazon for $20 dollars. I just bought several large power tools over the last year from them, guess I better buy all the blades, belts and bearing I may need in the next few years and everybody may want to rethink your purchases in the future.

I had one of those harbor freight planers, they’re entry level throwaways, burnt out after one good project, more fuss than function to replace blades, I think they’re trying to save you a headache Paul?

Maybe so, maybe another good reason not to buy power tools from them.

When it comes to power tools I usually put both feet in, the cheapest I buy is craftsman, only because they have a lifetime warranty. For me, harbor freight will always be a one time need it now tool store, quality & customer service seems to not be one of their goals? But they have saved me more than once, so I guess we’re even :)

"harbor freight will always be a one time need it now tool store"

Right with you there, Brian. After having impaled the back of my hand on a sheet-metal screw when a cheap swivel broke, I am very careful about buying cheap tools. No cheap power tools either. I'll buy used some day. One word of caution about Craftsman. Even they quit carrying the size of bandsaw blade that I needed for the band saw that I had for awhile. Custom-made lengths were too expensive so I sold it to a guy that said he could weld his own.

Hi, I have lots of projects on my benches, most of the time, and try to put a bit of time into each of them each week or month, or year. Or I get sick of looking at it and put it back on the "to do" shelf with all the other "one day I'm gonna do jobs".

As I mentioned in an earlier post this guitar was started 21 years ago.

It's all made of pine so I had my doughts from the start, some founded, some not it appears.

I have used parts already in stock or taken off of old guitars, as it's not really a serious saleable instrument so I'll probably keep it.....hmmm!, the last thing I need is another guitar.

Anyway with the mismatch of parts I have available I tried to keep some sort of colour scheme happening. So  Balck, White and Gold was the pick. Should appeal to somebody. The guitar is surprisingly weighty, the downer is that it marks so easily, I mean dents in the body even from a fingernail tap. well, it's only a rubbed finish.

the next hurdle is the wiring up of the pickups. Reflex pickups were meant to be an alternative to EMG active pickups back in the day. I bought six sets real cheap from a store that was closing down about 25 years ago. However, none of the sets came with a 5way selector switch, and due to the preamp having to be added to the circuit, I'm lost in the wiring department.

So I'll be back soon with questions. Closest I can get to the standard Strat set up is, all functions work as selected but no fingerboard P/u on its own.

Anyway, cheers Taff

 She's gorgeous, Taff.

That’s a looker Taff, headstock kinda reminds of a G&L?

"When it comes to power tools I usually put both feet in, the cheapest I buy is craftsman, only because they have a lifetime warranty. "

Craftsman power tools do not have a lifetime warranty.  Only certain (most, not all) Craftsman hand tools do.

Warranty | CRAFTSMAN®

Looks great Taffy, reminds me of Michael Schenker guitar.
I found this schematic on Yahoo.

Hi, and thanks for the comments guys.
Paul, yes I have the diagrams that come with the pickups, but I could not get things to work using a standard 5-way switch. I'll try again. Thanks for your efforts.

Gee, it's hard to be original, whatever you do someones already done it. Haha.
Taff
