Isn't it funny how many people can't tell the obvious difference between the performing section and the construction section of this forum? Please, learn to READ before you WRITE! I have to sift through pickup and neck questions while looking for info about how to play. That's why there are different sections, kids! Please use them correctly!

All I know is that since I have had a couple of "real musicians" that I know play my builds on stage, they sound damn good when someone who knows what they are doing does the picking. I'm doing OK on the building part, but I need to practice more on my playing. :)>
spot on , i've found the same...keeps me going...;)
Player psyche: "Dayum, that sounds kewl. Here, lemme try."
Builder/non player - I can't understand why you think this guit sounds bland, all my measurements were perfect, i used the best wood and the best hardware...? )-:
Builder/player - this guit sounds good now, i just put it together using some cheap scrap bits and pieces, it could sound great with a few adjustments, maybe change the bridge... maybe do another build... (-:
Player - played the s*** out of this thing live - though it's my cool amps and great playing that make it sound so good! (-;
Simple translation...Builder thinks in terms of tools and mechanics, Player thinks in terms of picks, slides and sounds.
Learner thinks in terms of "Damn, I wish I could do that" which applies to learning builders and learning players. I fit both categories, but then again, if we ain't learnin', we might as well quit doin'.

Such is the nature of the interneterwebernet forums.
In this thread, I was actually hoping to casually read the deeper intimacies of the player vs builder psyche. And I was disappointed to see it was just a RTFM post.
