We are organizing a CBG workshop held one Saturday a month at the 61 roadhouse & kitchen in Webster Groves MO. (St. Louis Area).  This is also the home to the St. Louis CBG festival each year.

Bill Kunz of 61 has been generous in offering us a place to meet, practice, discussed ideas and what ever members decide to do with the time. Gary Herget and myself are contacts for this club and are open to ideas to make this a fun club. As soon as we have commitment from members, we can set up a Saturday each month to meet mornings. We haven't set a day or start time as of yet. We need to know who can commit at least to a start up and discuss as a group when and how we want to run this. Possibilities are great!

Thanks for the offer Gary! Kind of a pride thing for me. I really want to make my first one. There's still some time. Hoping to find time between work and dental appointments. Be nice to show up with something to play on.

Hey count me in also...I live in Millstadt, IL. I been playing (off and on) for many many years.  I ordered a CBG off ebay and it was JUNK so I just ordered a new one. Hope to have it Monday. 02/03/14. I took 3 strings off of a flat top guitar and it works really good. Keep us informed plz.   Buddy

Great to hear from you Buddy. your excitment is great sounds like you've got the addiction. Looks like we're going to have a pretty good group, expecting a great time.

Will do, see you there!

HWY 61 roadhouse confirmed it's a go with our meeting time and will have soda and coffee for us.

To any guys/gals attending this I will have around 40 fuente boxes i will be giving away. Many are rather thin, might work well for a solid type build with screw on neck. Others are just in the small scale/uke size range. These will be free, and you can grab as many as you like.

That sounds great colin, I'm sure they will be appreciated.

I meant to ask you about these but time got away. Any chance you will have any next time?

Question, what should we bring? Amps, mics, pedals? Any gear needed?

I would bring no more than a CBG and small bag of anything to start off with. If we play right off, I'll have a practice amp anybody can plug into and there's already a pa system. Maybe a pedal and your own mic. or something you want to share. I'd like to do an hour of music myself, then indulge into the craft side of things. I'd like to discuss topics and plan future workshops while I have everyone together to help steer this in the direction we're wanting to go. Remember, the roadhouse opens kitchen by 11:00 and so we'll be off stage and up stares out of the way of customers. I think we all will get a clearer picture and feel more comfortable once we break the ice, this is new for all involved. You got something to swap/trade or sale, I'd bring it just to see what others have too.

I'll probably have some sort of swap or giveaway gift for the inaugural meeting. I like barters, trades and freebies.

I also love to swap and trade and I'll be sure to bring my camera.  I got my new 4 string CBG from Humidor Guitars and am totally amazed at the craftsmanship, quality and tone. I have vintage Gibson Hound dogs that don't sound that good. I have been trying to play 6 string guitar for 50 years without much success. Then I found Cigarbox Nation and took 3 strings off of one of my flat tops and, BANG... there was the sound I had been looking for. Them dirty, low down,  Mississippi cotton pick'n blues... lol.  See ya'll on the 22nd.
