0 Smallest usable cigar box size? Posted by Wayho on January 1, 2014 at 1:35pm in Building Secrets, Tips, Advice, Discussion New here. Been reading a lot and currently working on my first cigar box guitar. Just out of curiosity, what's the smallest size box you've ever used for a cbg? I used a smallish Ashton box that is 6 or 7 inches square. I like a shorter scale length on the smaller boxes for a better look. 20-23" or so.
5x7x4ish and 6x8x1 1/2
i used 2 tiny tea boxes for this beast ,, ;-D
There are a lot of really talented people here! These builds look GREAT!
Smallest I've used so far has been this Java Latte box - 6 1/8" X 8 3/8" X 1 1/2". It's pretty loud for a little acoustic only slider.
I made this build from 2 small boxes........
Probably the little Bolivar that I made. Not sure how big it was but they're standard size chicken head knobs and a rail pickup. It's a solid body in the box.
