<p>Sorry, the wrong diagram came up and I did not notice. Follow the single humbucker diagram but treat the "north" wire as yours and the earth.</p>

<p>Hi, if you only have one pickup then you will not have the 3way switch shown in that diagram. Take the centre wire of that switch as your pickup hot wire, and follow the wiring to the pots from there. As you say the braided wire is the earth and goes to the back of a pot. </p>
<p>What is happening when it is said earthing the bridge, is that we are earthing the strings. So a wire from the back of a pot to either the bridge or a tailpiece will do that. Assuming that you don't have a plastic…</p>
