volume pots do you use? I've tried building minty amps with volume and tone controls and they didn't work. Well the amps worked but the volume and tone controls may as well just have been there for looks. Audio taper? Linear taper? Ohms? I'm pretty much lost when it comes to electronics.

I use differing kits,(5-16W transistors) but most will easily handle 100K to 250K pots or sliders, some even use 500K.
For the amps I tend to go for linear. Cheap and nasty, do the job really well.
