<p>Something a lot the members do is wipe the boxes with a semi-damp cloth before anything, those darker colored boxes are notorious for smudge prints? I have lacquered over smudges before, it’s bothersome, but ornamental trinkets can usually cover those spots? </p>

<p>Hi, are the fingerprints on the new lacquer? If so then Brian Qs method is worth a try, or are they on the box paper and were there before you sprayed over them? If the later be careful you don't sand down to the paper and wreck it.</p>
