Hi, yep that's the fingerpicking truth.

My old band arranged a 20th anniversary get together, since its formation, and seventeen years since that original line up played together. I got the more resent line up together [haven't played together for ten years] and gave ourselves three days to get a set list together.

We had a birthday to play for, and a pub gig. The pub gig was a benefit event for drought stricken farmers [feed for their stock].

As a money raiser the band donated its fee. And as part of the money raising an auction was arranged and I donated a 3 string Anzac biscuit tin CBG, which fetched $800.00.

Cheers Taff

Good work Taff!

Gee and I thought I did good this weekend selling two guitars and two cigar box amps!

Great Job Taff ! And it sounds like a good cause.

You did!

great guitar and a great cause too.  just wondering what  shirt of pick up you used and how you did the sound hole

Hi Brent, I cut the sound hole using a hole saw, GO SLOW AND HANG ON. the surrounding chrome ring is one of my resonator soundhole covers with the grill mesh cut out.

I used a piezo pickup. To me these are too tinny sounding in a tin body, that is why this guitar is wood, with the lid on top. Even so, sounds reasonable at bedroom levels through my acoustic amp, but in the band situation it was terrible, I was embarrassed. But it sold.

Also at high sound levels of a full band it had feedback, as expected.

cheers Taff

thanks Taffy. I didn't even realise the body was wood! And congrats on the huge amount raised

That's fantastic Taff.

Thanks for the comments guy's. I've just read in the local paper that we raised just under $3000.00 on the night for the Farmers fund.

Taff
