Well I had a productive day at the local yard sales today. I scored a 6"x48" belt sander with a 9" disk and a Dremel Multipro 395 with a flex shaft. I got what I think are good deals on both $35.00 for the belt sander and $5.00 for the Dremel. I already have a Dremel but I couldn't pass it up and I think the belt sander will speed up neck building.

Score!!!

Oh Yeah!!!! I have a belt sander that size and it gets used every day!!! You will have fun with that.

Lately I've been tempted to remove the disc part but so far have left it intact but hardly ever use it.

What is that? Looks original

Looks great, I have a small tabletop sander with same set up, I use it all the time, super handy. Looks like you scored big time :)

Nice score!!!

Well actually, that thing is going to slow down your neck building, make your back hurt, kill your flowers, double your electric bill, and cause general chaos in your life.

In the spirit of helping, which is so prevalent in the nation, I will come get it, and return your $35.00, before it causes any more trouble.

Cool score!

I have a shop full of tools. There is a crappy old 1x30 belt sander screwed to a 2x6 which is nailed to the corner of the bench. I wonder at times why I even bother turning it off. I'd be lost without it.........

Thank you for the generous offer! I am however sorry that I'll have to not take advantage of it as i wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I contributed to your sore back and the dead flowers. If for some chance I do reconsider I guess I could send cash to help with the electric bill. All joking aside it has already proven to be a workhorse and made headstock shaping MUCH faster and easier.

You will find you turn to it more and more once you get used to having it. I got busy today and pulled the disc off the side of mine and built a guard for the belt. I found the disc got in the way more than I ever used it.
