I am just getting back into building after a long layoff and would like to "brand" my CBGs with a signature headstock design. Knowing that many heads are smarter than one (especially mine), I'm asking for your help.
Will you post to this discussion pictures or drawings of a unique headstock design? The only requirement is that it needs to be adaptable to any CBG using 1-4 strings. At the end of the month I'll pick one that will become the flag for the Wichita Sam CBG revival.
Oh, to encourage participation and fun, the first CBG that I build using the winning design will go to the person who offered the design. Don't hesitate to offer any design you think is cool.
Thanks, very interesting
you're welcome . good to see ya back. hope your recovery is speedy and easy on ya .
i submit this in the hopes it is not taken the wrong way nor as a careless " joke" or any thoughtlessness etc... , but for the symbolic personal reference it is intended as .
how about a flame ? symbolic not of your ordeal , .... but of conquering it , and maybe to symbolize the religious force that got you through it etc..
being the site Chaplin , and with your experience, and with a W in the flame ....
you can't get a much more meaningful ,personal touch than that.
again . this is intended with the utmost respect . i hope it is received well.
First of all, not to worry. I see the beauty in it and appreciate the thoughtfulness in the design. it certainly achieves the goal of 'branding". Nothing like it.
Sam, I was given a tip from someone on this site to a persons archive photos of a past master at headstock designs. I wish I could remember who it was. This guy was past master at headstocks. I got about 4 designs off his stuff and I made hardboard templates so I was good for a long time. This person had some beautiful and different designs. Maybe whoever gave me the tip will see this and head you in the right direction. Good luck.
If the name comes to you, raid his file amd submit some pics?..design don't have to be your original, just something that you think looks good, unique.
Very nice, not sure I'm good enough artist to pull it off. There's always decals...
