I'm in Watertown. Getting ready to build a cigar box dulcimer.
Gary, great. I may build a dulcimer in the future. Thinking of a Conjo Or Dulcijo, a strum stick bajno CBG morphed together. Three main strings and a forth short fretted diatonically. Thinking of maybe using a resonator instead of th edrum head. ANyway, great heep us updated, diagrams, photos, vids, the works.
I live in Hermitage by OHB and A. Jackson Just getting started in CBG but am a very experienced woodworker and light duty machinist.
I live in Antioch. Would love to see a CBG jamboree here in Nashville! Just picked up the hobby a month ago and I'm having a blast! I can't play them but my songwriter friends are falling in love with them!
I am also in Watertown. I've finished a 3 stringer and am SLOWLY working on a 4 string. Then, it will be time to record my blues album using these babies!
Gary, I hadn't forgotten about calling you! I just deleted my messages on my phone and lost it that way. When are you free to talk, or should I just give it a buzz anyway and see if you are home?
George, Watertown isn't really that far from you. It is only 12 miles from my house to Walmart. All three of us need to hook up and just see what could happen.
Hi, Chris!
No problem. I've been dealing with a couple of serious problems that have taken most of my time the last couple of months.
Call me any time except Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday mornings. I'm usually available from 8 AM to 9 PM. Or if you're driving on Bell Road heading towards the Linwood Rd exit of I-40, stop by 2561. My cell phone is 615-604-1106.
I'd really like to put together a whole band. I wouldn't care if it was a band made of all handmade instruments. I'd love to see a drum kit made of buckets or even two cajons. A homemade bass will soon be in the works here.
I am putting together an album (or two) of songs in the more rocked out blues traditions of ZZ Top, Georgia Satellites, Glenn Kaiser Band, etc. I am doing gospel music, but I want this release to be a bit different. While there are some more typical lyrical pieces, I want to be able to tell good stories that also reflect my faith. I also want to be able to tell stories that really have nothing to do with my faith and that everyone experiences. Throw all of that into a blender. I would be interested in playing far more than just the church gig. I would feel comfortable playing almost anywhere even with the lyrical approach I am taking.
If you are interested, give me a call at 615-946-6388. I play guitar and bass and sing. I will be doing the vocals on my album. What can you bring to this?
Looking for some fellow musicians--CBG players or not--to complete the lineup of a blues band. my music is faith based, but I am open to doing songs that are clean and positive as well. I need another CBG player, a bassist, and drummer. If instruments are homemade, that would be even cooler.
Hi,
I'm in Nashville.
Bass is my main instrument and that's exactly what attracted me to the CBG since the string spacing is so similar. It just felt natural the first time I picked it up. I like the unusual tunings because they bring about fresh sounding chord voicings. Love it!
Attached a file of a song I'm working on. (Yes, there will be lyrics, but this is just the backing track)
I'm in Nolensville. If anyone plays out, let me know because I'd love to watch you in action.
