You are seeing first coat of a pink glitter art paint. We're looking at 2-3 coats for a deep, glittery pink for the top and a glitter blue for the sides....

I can't wait to see the photos! Anyone else build special instruments for young'uns in your life? I built this one for my daughter to take on a hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail, but she's 18 so not really a kid anymore. Super small, about 1.25 lbs, 15".
Today we picked out the box... I have her try it on for size... she's going out with me tomorrow to pick out the paint. It's a real pretty box (natural finish) that will soon be covered in PINK... but, she's a sweetie, so how could a grandpa say no?
