Here is a little something I have been working on. It is a black Monte Cristo Reserva Negra box. The neck is poplar with multiple coats of sanding sealer to smooth out the grain. I then painted the back of the neck with gloss black, and then added several coats of satin urethane. The fingerboard is 1/8 inch flooring luan, stained with red oak stain.
The brass picture hanger serves as the tail piece, and I have to add the bridge, nut, and tuning pegs yet, but it is almost done. It has the standard piezo pickup, and I opted for no sound holes for cosmetic purposes.
I just noticed that the uppermost frets are ever so slightly off, dang!! Not sure how that happened, not paying attention I suppose. But it will probably play fine.
