I noticed recently that Mr. Wayfinder has been absent from these pages. It appears that the account, plus all posts have gone. Seems a bit of a shame as the fellow was always happy to help out, and could clearly call upon his own knowledge (and Google) pretty well. Some interesting and fun builds came from that guy.

Anyway, best of luck to you, if you're reading this.

I hear you Jim. Seems such a shame as the overriding feel of this community is very friendly and inclusive. I don't think anyone here, in their heart of hearts, would want to push someone away, regardless of if they felt they were overstepping the line or whatever.

damn shame. seems there was a few flame wars going on but he was a pretty decent bloke with some interesting ideas.

social media bs at it's finest

I can see leaving, and I can even see an over-the-top emotional response of deleting all content, but I still think it is like taking a dozen great books out of the library and never returning them.  It's a shame.

Hunh.   I hadn't noticed yet.   Saddens me and makes me wonder.   That kind of thing happens too often.   I hope he reads these comments and feels better.

I met the Wayfinder at KC fest, 2014.  Nice, enthused, articulate guy.   He did some songs at open mic and was very good.  I always wished he'd have given us more videos on CBN.   Very good builder too.   Strong opinions on building, but I could say that for Wichita Sam who was down there too.   Top builders both of them and Linda Morrison down there too.

Jim, I don't very often notice unkindness here.   With me (sometimes - moody old bastard who occasionally gets down)  my feelings of the hour can affect how I take comments.    I think all of us should work up the nerve to not put up with any unkindness.   Call out the perpetrators.

On the other hand- and nothing to do with Wayfinder- I think some careful, constructive criticism or suggestions on builds or even videos is good too.  I've been doing that more lately on build photos that I like a lot.   And it worries me that I will hurt someone's feelings.

I hope the Wayfinder comes back.

Just said a little prayer for him.  Now I move on.

That's a good idea John. Constructive criticism is all to rare here. Praise is good, but it won't always make you strive to do better.

Merle,  I love your 'Dude' comment.

I'm only here to be inspired, steal good ideas, and get negative feedback from people who know what the hell they're talking about. (Positive feedback is fun but teaches you very little.)

Thanks to all who provide that--and Wayfinder has been an important part of that experience. I miss the guy...

When in doubt, re-read Ben's CBG Manifesto!

wow, I have been ghost on here myself for the last few weeks. Did not know he left. Sad, he was a really nice guy and I will miss his enthusiasm and insight. Maybe he just needed a break. I often go away especially in summer as I would rather play and build more and type less. Hope we see him again somewhere down the road. I will miss him

Yup, Wayfinder has always been one of the more helpful and down to earth guys on here. He helped me out and I've got one of his pups on my favorite CBG. I saw some of the negativity directed at him and don't quite understand why. If you don't agree with something on here you can either ignore or discuss it with civility and respect. I for one hope he returns.

This is something that happens quite frequently around here, sadly. A new guy comes along, maybe not too experienced but eager to help, and of course toes are inevitably stepped on...you know the rest.
Well, my hope is, he'll be back. Sometimes, Life gets in the way. Things change, and more important stuff, than writing comments to a virtual community website, crops up and rightfully grabs your attention. I have a feeling he'll be back. In time.
Wholeheartedly agreed Ron. However I think a bit of time away is one thing, but bricking the entire account is another entirely...
