Modifying mini-humbucker mounting rings

I am installing the Gitty mini humbuckers in a couple of thru-neck builds with reenforced necks. I purchased the chrome mounting rings- which I know are not the correct size- but the description on the store page says they "can be made to work with some modification." ...So what modifications do I need to make? Bend the mounting "wings" on the pickups, maybe? I have searched the CBN discussions, but found nothing.

Thanks! I'd be very grateful for any help.

Yeah,  just figured I would throw it out here before bothering Ben with it. Plus, others may have the same question. This way if I get an answer, it is searchable/available for others.

I carefully bent the metal tabs of the mini humbuckers so that they lined up with the holes in the rings.

Thanks, Wade. That is what I was thinking of doing. I just wasn't sure if there was some other tried & true method.
