Little 386 amp?? Get the extinguishers!!!

Hey guys - I'm about ready to solder up this little kit I got - http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/QK17

I think everything is in place - but one quick question - does that 8 legged gizmo, 386 LM, have the other 8 legged gizmo piggybacked onto it after I solder it in??? Can't find any more holes!!??
As I type this I know it sounds like a joke but I'm serious, I can't even find the "smiley face"!!!

Hey Thanx for all the tips guys - I went out last nite and got it working, sort of, - drives me nuts when I can't figure stuff out!!!!
My biggest problem is my favourite exercise - jumping to conclusions!!!
When I tried my "real" guitar into it - it really barks - so I'm guessing my little "wallwart" pickup on my CBG is just not putting out enough juice. I'll have to concentrate on making a better pickup for this build.
Hey Dave - there is a guy over in Shanty Bay that stocks components, I'll have to try to find him again - my old computer crashed (damn TurboTax) so I lost all my "Favourites"

Hey Blueshart - Thanx - I sort of panic when I have a whole mitt full of stuff, nothing is labelled and I fully expect that one wrong move and the whole thing melts on my bench or just keeps burning til it reaches the transformer at the road!!!

When you figure out who he is let me know. Sayal is only 10 minutes from me, so it is really convenient. However, there is an amp I would like to build based on an IC chip Sayal does not carry. There is also a pre-amp with a chip that most do not carry thiat is supposed to be great with Piezo pickups.

This kit came without instructions? I think u want to flip the LED around if it's not lighting, the flat notch of the LED is neg/-, u may want to check the orientation of the Electrolytic Capacitors,this can make it sound crappy.fi the kit didn't come with instructions,then I would contact the supplier for them. hope u get it goin'

Hey Brian - Led is probably in wrong - I didn't think they would be pole sensitive so I didn't look for markings - found that out fooling with another one - pretty sure I got the caps in right - they told me about that little hiccup!!
The gizmo actually sounds pretty good with my other guitar - Man I'm larnin' so much my head hurtz!!!!

I bought a similar amp on ebay- like yours it was a PCB and little bag of components I had to google the numbers to place them. Sounds like you got it working. Watch out, making those little amps can be addictive. Enjoy.
