Thanks to all of you for putting photo's of your wonderful CBG's on here. I've just lost my virginity, and built my first CBG, and now can't wait to get started on my second. Damn, why do I have to go to work, when I could by building CBG's. The photo's on here were a great source of motivation and inspiration. I don't know if anyone else had the same feeling when you make the first cut or you drill into wood that you've spent hours preparing, it’s a nervous time (or it was for me). The feeling you get when you’re putting the strings on for the 1st time is like nothing I've ever known, will it work, will it sound ok, have I wasted my time here, but when you tune up and play for a bit everything becomes alright. So once again, I'd like to thank you all. Juju was right, I can't look at a box without thinking "Erm could I?" Cheers Tallman Ben Ps. thanks too for the wonderful comments.

  • hey man you're dicted like the rest of us they don't have a 12 step program for this addiction
  • I also enjoy the look of , er, ah, I guess amazement people get that have never seen one before when you show it to them. Especially where I live, it is a real novelty.

Most of all I like the satisfaction I get from building.

And, Ben glad you are with us.
  • Yep, just like chips.... one isn't enough!!!! I really like your build.... lots of very nice features..... You did something pretty unusual (I've only done in once or twice in over 100 builds)... the idea of using a piece of fret wire for the bridge. I like it.

  • Hi ben congrats on loosing Virginity !
By the way very nice build mate you did yourself proud , yes your right i think we all get nervous while doing our builds after all it's our Baby and baby's need to be nurtured !

i still get that gut feeling when it comes to String up time , dont think that will ever go away and like you say it's a time when you wonder if all your effort has been worth it ?

what i also love about the CBG building in genral is to see guy's and Gal's having a go and been creative and hands on , maybe last time these people ever did anything like this was at school or maybe they have never made anything before
the CBG just seems to captivate anyone that comes into contact with them - we all see items in life that we like but we dont think i'm gonna try making one - until your talking CBG's

another thing it dont matter if you can or cant play cbg's just make you wanna try ! and who would have thought that a little box could bring so much joy to so many people - it's quite remarkable aint it ?
cheers for the mention bro and thanks to everyone else because we are all in this together
    juju. :-)
