Hi all,
I'm new to posting on here, so hope this is the right place/way to do this.
I got into making cbg's while carrying out research for an academic article on the growing cbg scene in the UK. My article has recently been published in the journal 'Design and Culture', and it is open access, which means you don't have to subscribe to the journal to be able to download it.
The article is titled 'Hairy Guys in Sheds: The Rough and Ready World of DIY Cigar Box Guitar Makers'. If you're interested and would like to read the article or download a PDF of the article, go to:

Hope you like it!
Cheers
Paul

Stunning piece of research- covers all bases, and passes few judgements. Two points, if I may. Shane Speal himself said, during his recent TV plug for his book, something along the lines of "You buy a factory made guitar, you sound like everyone else. You build a guitar, you sound like yourself." Secondly- and perhaps not unconnected- in the last twelve months, building and playing home-made guitars, I have been happier than I have ever been at any time in my sixty years.
Build, play, repeat...
WOW, that's not an article. That's a BOOK! Awesome work Paul.
Great article, thanx
