Hi, I have lost count of the number of guitar necks I have repaired over the years. These accidents have been caused by a number of reasons: people sit on them, drop them, the strap comes off, drunk trips over a guitar on stage, guitar falls off the stand. Oh, and don’t forget airline baggage handlers.

Well, I have two guitars on the bench with the same problem due to one of the above accidents, falling off a guitar stand.
But wait there’s more…. the guitar stand in question holds 6 guitars and stands two meters high, and to make things worse the guitars on it were mine. Luckily other guitars on the rack were not damaged.
Photos show before and after repairs with the final tidying up still to be done.

I show the complete job when done
cheers Taff

  • Hi, a labor of love is now complete, two guitars saved from the dump. They are not worth the cost of the repair really, but I can just see some young budding guitarists over the moon with their new, old, guitar, that mum and dad could afford to buy for them.

Tim, this Washburn has as good a sound as any factory-made low-cost guitar. The neck has that perfect shape for doing fast bluegrass-type licks with ease.

The nylon K Yairi will be a good buy as some years ago I put a solid Cedar top on it and it sounds far better than the original. Anyway, now on to some real work.
    Cheers Taff

    • Did a great job on those as usual.

  • i cry for the damage but i have mixed feelings on the washburn.....  i had a washburn 12 string and it was a terrible guitar. The Aria 12 i had before it was orders of magnitude better. i bought the Aria from Byron Music in Byron Bay in the early 80's.  the guitar was nicked in 1992 while i was in england.

  • Enough to make a grown man cry.
