Thanks Glenn. How was your Thanksgiving? I have to watch those videos with the sound turned off, the music overlay grates on my one nerve I have left. But with that said, I've gotten lots of ideas from them. They post "How to" videos on tool jigs, making a drill press, disk sanders etc. All with the same nerve grinding music. LOL

Sorry you didn't have Farley with you. It's always harder not having loved ones around. Anytime I wake up on the greenside of the grass I'm thankful. We had two dinners, one on Thursday and another tonight, boy am I stuffed. I came across another video to post, it's just a little more complexed.

Interesting to see how others do it, thanks Hooch. Also a good lesson in how to apply glue...not.

I built this wood top 5 string banjo without the use of a lathe for making the rim. But I suppose it depends on what timber you have to hand.

Nice job Taff, I think if and when I take a shot at it I'll use steamed bands to make the drum.
