I need to know how to post sound samples on Nation. I got photos figured out but videos with sound baffle me. I know you need to post videos to YouTube. I have garage band and an eyeball on my desktop. Can you folks help an aged computer victim? .. Dave Lynas

Hi guys. I got my first new video today on Nation. Thanks very much for your advise. It worked out. Not too bad. I had a friend over to help. He's a computer wizard. He got me past the blocks. I'm using my iPad video camera and going direct to YouTube to download and copy the link to CBN. I can do it! This is big. .. Dave
Might be easier to use the youtube embed code. Once the video has uploaded, click on the video title directly below your newly uploaded video and you will see from memory 'options' (I've forgotten but you can't miss it), it's above right of your video, if you click on that you'll see some options choose the one you need e.g. 'edit' - click on that and you can change a lot of the details.
Hey Oily! That sure ought to get me started. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain it so concisely. I'll work on recording something for a start. Thanks again, Dave
Are you asking how to post vids to the Nation, or record them in the first place?
Since you have an eyeball camera on your computer, you need to access that. Since you mention GarageBand, presumably you have an Apple machine. They all come bundled with an app called iMovie, which allows you to access the camera, record video (which will record sound at the same time), and further edit that video after recording. If you simultaneously record the sound in GarageBand, you can then tweak that in GB, and replace the soundtrack in the video with that recording. There are YouTube videos that show how to do all of these steps. You'll have to dig around to find them, or you could try sites like Instructables.com, or even Apple's own help forums.
Once you have recorded and edited your video and uploaded your video to YouTube, copy the link to it. You then past that link into the My Videos section on your Profile page. Look for the clickable link at the bottom left of that called +Add Videos. Click on that, and a page will pop up, with sections called Add Video from your Computer (the main section), with verbiage about vid size and supported file types. Below that to the left is a section called Add video from YouTube, Vimeo, and other sources. Click on the YouTube link, and locate your vid on YouTube. That should start your vid uploading to CBN, which, once done, will appear on your My Videos section on your Profile page. You will have the opportunity then to edit the title, add keywords for Search capabilities, and any comments about it you want people to know.
