Cheers Nathan. You're right, it is oak, quarter sawn at that. I have never had any problems with it so far. This is more a peace of mind thing as I find myself wanting to take more material off the neck each time I make one!

<p>This is an awesome idea. Ive been pondering a 6 string build but not comfortable installing a real truss rod yet. This should give me the strength needed. <br/> I haven't had any bowing problems yet with 4 strings. I'm using maple for the necks and either maple or rosewood for the finger boards. What have you been using for yours? It looks like oak from the pics, but I'm not great at wood identification.</p>
