Hello, folks, I already used up what little search skill I have, and thought it might make a decent discussion for those interested. How do you store your cigar boxes for long term?

Hi Southern Ray, I did not want to come in too soon, I was interested to see the ideas of others first. Looks like you did not stick ya fork deep enough, Hahaha.
Well, my first thought was don't let your boxes sit around too long... build guitars.
Seriously though, if I were concerned I would put boxes in individual zip lock-type bags or wrap them in a cling film, and store them as Sam does. My first concern would be to keep insect crap off of them, and other critters from chewing at the labels. They are made to protect a vulnerable product so they should stand up to the environment pretty well. Moister on the labels would need to be kept at bay.
I do not use cigar boxes, I make my own, but those I did build in the early days using proper cigar boxes have been hanging on the wall for years with no signs of deterioration.

That is a terrific question and I look forward to what the more experienced builders will have to say on this one. I'm in NE Florida and I have boxes tucked away in the house as well as in cabinets in the garage. I'm sure the garage isn't the most ideal place but I haven't really noticed and drastic changes from heat/humidity either. How about yourself? What seems to work for you?
