This is probably and idiotic question but can you explain the difference between pickup and a humbucker!
I made a one string diddley bow with a pickup length ways so all the bars lie up with the single string but making a three string to get each bar to line up is more difficult unless its at an angle!
I see allot of Seasick Steve pickups and there is no bars to line up at all it just looks like a flat piece of metal! what exactly are these called and how much do they cost!
I know eveyone has there preference but I love the sound out of the seasick steve ones best and they seem to be easier to pup in?
would appreciate any thoughts on the subject!
thanks guys!

Telecaster neck pickups are going to be the most common pickups without pole pieces. They are single coil. You can also find a lot of lipstick style pickups for single coils too.
Solid cover mini-humbuckers are also pretty common. Cheap ones on eBay, and Guitar Fetish has a barnburner called the WIld Dog.
You don't have to line up the pole pieces perfect on a CBG though, the pickups create a wide enough magnetic field that they'll still pick up the string vibration without a noticeable difference. I have a three string with an angled single coil - two poles match, the middle doesn't. Can't tell the difference through any amp I've tried it through.
the telecaster neck pickup what is that like is it actually on the neck?
It's the one closest to the neck near the end of the fingerboard
Do you mean a pickup like this? It's a cheap single coil
yes although some iv seen are almost flush with thw box!
The height is adjustable
The pickup and Tele style control plate are from Musiclily, the pup mounting plate is from CHguitars in South Shields
Do you remember the cost?
The pup's were 2.25 GBP ,even when you add on shipping,p&p and taxes they are still cheap
