<p>My Stewmac tuner hole jig has them spaced at 1 3/8” apart, but that’s not concrete, companies doing different things these days? usually 3/8”-1/2” in from the edge of the headstock, you could do what Taff said & draw out the headstock on something? Measure out holes on one half of headstock on a paper template & just mirror it on the other side & it’ll match up? You’ll get better at lining them up as you build more, eventually developing your own template? Here’s something a…</p>

<p>Hi James, I would have thought that earlier responses to your question on this would have saved you going nuts. I think it a relatively easy exercise. Cut the shape you want using a stiff paper or thin card, place it on the end of the neck/fingerboard, plot the best string projection to the desired tuner post position and mark it.</p>
<p>At times there may not be a direct path for the string from nut to tuner post, so an intermediate post in the form of a screw, or better, can be positioned…</p>

<p>If you are looking for somebody else's template, you may find you'll have to modify it anyway. It's easy, and quicker and more satisfying, I think, to design my own.</p>
