This pick up is available on Ebay all the time. I wouldnt dream of replacing any of my guitars pups with it but I was thinking it might make a decent CBG pick up. "Copper Coil Magnetic Acoustic PickUp Guitar 20Hz- 20KHz" comes with pretty much everything you need, tone pot, volume pot, wiring, and jack. Just wondering if anyone has used it and can let me know how it worked. There is a picture of everything that is included on the attached file.
Mine's got a hum to it (no Duh Wes) which I think is a little much, but...

I bought a 99 cent pick up a while back from ebay, kinda the same story, was not sure if would be okay or not, I got it really fast, it was only 3 bucks for shiping and everything, it is on one of my diddley bow's.....keep in mind, cheap pick ups, most of the time don't sound so great and are microphonic, might be better off finding something on ebay that someone has yanked out of a old squire or something. I am not a huge fan of single coil pick ups any how, but that's just me, heck I even bought one. Again, you get what you pay for.

It works I put it in my Cigar box bass and Im happy with it. The tone pot might as well be for show. Its very worth what
you pay for it, fast shipping too.
I bought one too, from a guy called 'Allforlaptop' on Ebay.
Has excellent feedback (+50,000 sales at 99.4%) and for good reason - constant contact, very helpful, delivery from Honk Kong to the Uk in under a week.
As for the product - keep in mind it cost less than £5 delivered. It was however, exactly as it should be - I got nuts on the pots, the right knobs, and I got what I ordered.
It was never going to be a sound sensation though, but it works fine! I struggle to hear any difference between the 'good' stuff and the budget stuff - played through a half decent amp I get a suitable noise from everything - piezos, magnetics, stomp boxes etc etc. Im sure the purists would disagree, and Im not saying there is no difference - I just cant hear it much!
The cheapest pots cost me the same money at my local store, so in essence the pup, knobs, wiring etc were free!
And they come with tons and tons of cable - how easy can it be?!
I have to agree with the overall feeling of the other guys though - you DO get what you pay for - before you buy compare prices with used stuff on ebay - I picked up a real old set of quality 3 single coils with pots for £3 the other day... :o)
I agree with the old saying you get what you pay for. I also figured it would apply to a cheaply put together set of chinese componets haha. Just wondering if they were worth while since Low Fi can sound really good on a CBG. I have some fender single coils lying around, I just have to buy the rest of the parts. Wouldnt mind tying out one of those Flatbed pup/bridges that Ted makes for my God of Fire box .
Yup. Have one. Its ok if you just want to pickup the strings. Better to me than Piezo, but... Pots are crap but functional. Tone pot is useless. Its designed for an acoustic so mounting would be on the acoustic sound hole. I took the bezel off and mounted it on my Cohiba. Since I knew I could change it out, I bought one. Would I buy again? Prolly for a really low end box but if you want top shelf sound and quality, go with something better.
There's another guy on ebay that sells CBG pickups....his help is always free, and people say he even knows a thing or two 'bout CBG's.....I'm just sayin...

I'd rate a 2-3 out of 10.
